Has anyone every developed an allergy to their wedding rings during pregnancy?

My wedding bands are gold and I had no problem in the first pregnancy but with my second every time I try to wear them my finger comes out in itchy lumps has anyone experienced this?

I did I had to clean them a lot

@Ashley did cleaning them help or was it the metal irritating you? Did it go away after you had the baby?

My gold wedding ring turned my finger black. Doctor said its a chemical reaction to the hormones being excreted through the skin! I would guess itching and bumps could be caused by the same thing!

@Kate cleaning them helped I had to moisturize a lot too. My skin got really dry all over. Like someone below said it’s a reaction to the hormones. I was fine after pregnancy, but almost any ring I had while pregnant did it. Gold, silver, anything. It would seem to fluctuate throughout pregnancy. Sometimes silver was fine, sometimes gold was. It’s not abnormal during pregnancy and it should go away when your hormones stabilize again.

Same with me. I have platinum bands and my ring finger turned red, dry, itchy and bumpy. It was so weird. I bought a new set just for the pregnancy but noticed if I just keep washing them every night or every other night, don’t wear it to bed and keep my hands moisturized, I don’t have a reaction anymore
