Would 100% not recommend but I drank until approx 9/10 weeks because I thought I was having an abortion and me and baby are now healthy and I’m 35 weeks

I personally wouldn’t

didnt even think about a 0% thats an idea x

Would not chance it. If something happened you'd blame yourself just not worth it find something alcohol free if you really need something

I had a bit when I was pregnant. Emily Oster is an economist who has done a great literature review of all the studies done around the world. It's not just alcohol but things like cheese, cured meats etc. She just pulls together the science, summarises it then leaves you to make your own decisions. Absolutely fantastic imo. Well worth a read https://www.waterstones.com/book/expecting-better/emily-oster/9781409177920

No.

Plenty alcohol free options out there. I know it’s tempting because you know you can’t have it, but it’s really not worth it and strongly advised against due to implications for baby, especially at only 6 weeks

I'm 34w+3 with twins and I've had the odd small glass throughout pregnancy, usually with a meal and with a glass of water alongside it. Just be sensible 👌🏽

yeah i wasnt meaning i wanted to get black out drunk i was going for lunch and was gona have a wee glass but decided against it, if only i was a weed smoker , that would be more acceptable eh 😉

Why ask if you don’t want people to answer honestly? Do what you want to do and don’t bother posting on a public forum asking

@Jen heaven forbid i ask if anyone else does it in a public forum for people to ask questions relating to wine. its more the way some of the answers are written thats the problem.

Ok so I've been pregnant 4 times and had 3 children. With my eldest I stayed teetotal and gave birth to a healthy baby boy, with my 2nd pregnancy I stayed teetotal and at my 12 week scan I was told there was a sac but no baby, the baby had died on the way to my womb, so when my 3rd pregnancy happened I thought I've had 1 I've lost 1, what will be will be so I had an odd glass of wine here and there and I gave birth to a healthy baby girl, when I then fell pregnant 2 years ago(not planned total surprise) I thought oh well let's just get on with it, for the 1st 10 weeks I felt too sick to drink anything but then after that subsided I did have the occasional drink, I had an odd glass of prosecco now and again and I now have a happy healthy 2 and a half year old! So basically I say 1 or 2 here and there don't hurt, if you fancy a glass have a glass 😉

thank you catrina, i just wanted to know if anyone else done it. xx

If you speak to your midwife you'll actually find they only recommend no alcohol at all as they don't know what the "safe" amount is during pregnancy (this is what my midwife told me). Obviously they know that drinking to excess is damaging to an unborn baby due to people with alcoholism but in terms of what one glass here and there would do they can't be sure. I personally was pregnant with both my sons over the Xmas period and I had a glass of bubbles with my Xmas dinner.

thank you kimberley. i will be pregnant over xmas and new year also and would like a glass during dinner or at the bells. x

Completely your choice. I did have the odd one, one at Xmas, one at new year and one for our wedding anniversary! I used to smell it all the time and then drink some water to pretend it was wine 😂😂 do whatever you feel is right for you

I'm 32 weeks and honestly, all I have craved for the last 6 weeks is a nice cold glass of white zinfandel! I've tried so many different alcohol free substitutes and absolutely nothing compares 😢 I cannot wait to crack a bottle open xx

i feel you lucy lol i know it will pass and ill be fine with that, not my first rodeo and i didnt drink with my other 3 babies lol but i didnt crave it then. xx

I found out I was pregnant at 3 weeks and we went away for the weekend at 7 weeks and I did have a small white wine. I think at that early stage I just wanted to get it out of my system the want of a glass of wine. Since then I've had a glass of prosecco at my brothers wedding and I sniff my partners wine 😂 Otherwise I now drink Noughty 0% which is very nice and highly recommend if you like a fizz

ill give that a try thanks xx

I had the odd glass last time I was pregnant, just stuck to a small measure and just the one, usually just for a special occasion like my 30th, mums 60th etc x

I absolutely had a few small glasses of wine here and there throughout my pregnancy when I really fancied one! Second the comment from Leah above about checking out expecting better by Emily Oster. I was too scared to before reading it and it really made me feel comfortable that a glass or two wasn’t going to do any harm!!!! You do you girl x

I had half a pint with lemonade top up on my 30th birthday. I’d never advise to drink any amount of alcohol to anyone but I don’t think a wee glass of wine will do anything. Other than that, In both pregnancies for the first few weeks or even month of pregnancy I was drinking loads (a lockdown baby and a holiday baby) like tequila and beer and vodka and cocktails. I obviously had no idea I was pregnant and soon as I found out i stopped completely bar my 30th wee little pint (I was on holiday and they didn’t serve non alcoholic) I knew that what I had wasn’t going to do anything to ME or MY baby. I even told the midwives both times how much I drank and was worried and they both said that it’s fine. Loads of women drink loads and do other things when they don’t know they are pregnant and are fine. Again, I will never advise to have any amount of alcohol. Just be very sensible ❤️🩵 also congratulations x I would always suggest alcohol free drinks although they dnt taste the same.

@Sarah omg I used to smell it and drink my juice or water too 😂😂😂😂

There really isn't anything wrong with having a glass of wine here or there with food and drunk slowly. I think they say it's best to avoid for the first trimester, I didn't drink at all for the first 15 weeks but then I relaxed. I also recommend reading emily oster expecting better xxx

I feel your pain I was the same when I was pregnant ...the only thing I will say is I waited until I was 16 weeks before having a white wine mixed with lemonade but everyone is different and it's your body your choice
