Starting milk ladder

Son has been on prescription formula since he was about one month old, didn’t get referred to a dietician then for some reason so we’re still awaiting that now but I know it will take months. People that have had professional advice- when did they suggest to start the milk ladder? Is it over one year? If I have the advice that the dietician will tell me I can just start myself.

We were advised to start between 9 and 11 months x

Oh great, was that specific to you or is that general advice do you know?

We were told when he's 1. I'm sure I've heard as long as it's 6month after last exposure x

@Jess as long as they’ve been milk free for at least 6 months and aren’t having any symptoms like eczema or a bad tummy, it’s fine to start a milk ladder. That’s what we were told 🥰 we didn’t realise our little girl had cmpa until she was 3 months old, so the 6 month mark would’ve been 9 months x

Ok he’s 8 months now and I’m sure he was about one month when he got put on the CMPA milk. I hate how little guidance there is! I just want him to be able to join in Christmas dinner without having to have his own separate things 😅😂 thank you xx

@Jess yeah I completely get you! I eve had birthday parties where she can’t get involved with having little treats with other kids, I know she knows no different but it makes me sad! I think the ladder can take a while to fully do so it’s worth getting started x

@Erin don’t know if you had the same but people (mainly family members) just don’t take it seriously and are so judgey when I say he can’t have things too 🙄

@Jess yes 🤦🏼‍♀️ people think it’s some kind of fad diet so she doesn’t get fat or something!!
