No well he pretty much gets whatever he wants

I started an allowance for my son for chores since 5th grade. He's a freshman in college now. His main responsibilities were washing dishes every night and cleaning the bathroom every week. If he didn't wash the dishes properly he'd have to rewash them if he missed something when cleaning the bathroom he had to correct it. And he had to keep his room clean. If he didn't do his chores he didn't get money if he did do his chores he got 10 a week by the time he was in hs he got 20 a week plus if he did extra stuff outside his duties he got some extra cash. He still could ask me to buy him video games and stuff but his money from chores was his money to do with as he pleases which most of the time went to buying lunch instead of coming home for lunch or eating school lunch.

It may be more difficult since he is 17 but not impossible
