@YazmynJade he’s been on a few milks…! Neocate is an amino acid based milk. Have another drs appt in a few weeks to discuss going forwards
@Peggy he’s just been projectile vomiting alongside the rash. Definitely milder the less cows milk protein there is in the milk! Just so strange!!
@Laylah so we were on Hipp & he was having full facial & trunk/back rashes so I changed to Kendamil - was a bit better then got worse again so drs put us on althera which he would choke on so put on pepti 1… he was still rashing but to the same degree as now so was moved to neocate. To me, it seems like it’s a heat rash if the milk isn’t cool enough. If the milk is basically cold he doesn’t rash 🤷🏻♀️. Did you ever find out what was causing your baby’s symptoms?
I'd definitely keep going for a couple more weeks and it'll give you all the answers as to whether it's cmpa or not
Mine has always looked like this when feeding (EBF) and disappears the moment she stops. She is CMPA but this did not change/go away when I went dairy free. She is now weaning and has no other allergies. I think some babies just go red from the effort of sucking and it might not be allergy related.
My lil one was given neocate to help his weight gain due to CMPA. He reacted exactly like this and his dietician told me to stop using it because he was still reacting to the proteins in the milk. So he was changed to SMA Alfamino, it’s another amino acid milk but it’s proteins are broken down more. He didn’t react at all on Alfamino milk. Might be something to keep in mind.
If this is the first milk he's tried he will be going through the 6 week gut detox and will be going through the part where it's going to get worse for a week or two before better id hang on a bit longer personally and see if after 6 weeks its better. If not he may need a different type of milk not sure if yours is amino based but if it isn't he may need that type
