Indoor cats will likely not carry the infection I have a cat and so does my sister I snuggle and have my cat like on my face lol and if he can clean it that’s the best option if he refuses double up on a mask :)
I have a cat. If you research, the disease does not become active for 1 to 5 full days of being shed in the litter box. If you clean it right away it's not possible. I've also read it is NOT airborne, you have to find in contact with feces and not wash your hands. You do not need to get rid of your poor cat. Change with gloves and mask to feel better or better yet, have him do it, my husband does.

Just to be safe, have your partner clean the litter!
I have 2 cats and 2 kittens currently. I clean the boxes most of the time. I shower or wash my hands twice if it is super dirty. I've read it's only a worry if the cats are allowed outside or if eating raw foods. If you're husband is worried about it so much. He should clean it. My husband does when he remembers to. He was pretty good about it last year when I was pregnant. He's been kinda stressed due to work lately tho so kinda forgetful when stressed out.
We have two cats, they are strictly indoor cats. While my husband does always do the liter, at least when pregnant. He will be traveling for a month and I will be responsible for the cat liter. I’m not super paranoid since my cats are indoor cats. But I still will wash my hands throughly after each time.
@Sam the cat was outside before we took him in. He was wild
I have a 2yr cat which I clean their litter. What I've been doing is using gloves, covering my nose and mouth and proceed to clean. Although there is some truth to it, I've seen other Mama's do it and they are fine. It was highly encouraged to my husband to do the litter for me to prevent any illnesses. Have you talked to him about him potentially doing the lotter box for you?
