I looked at water babies but the cost of it was insane and it’s not something we could afford on mat pay or is sustainable once o go back to work
We do water babies in Brislington, it is expensive but it's in a specially heated pool - much warmer than a public swimming pool - and I think the classes are good at helping introduce your little one to swimming. My little one doesn't always enjoy it but the instructor has given good tips to make it a better experience
We go to Wrington, Little Swim Company is the company we go to. This is in a private pool which is also heated and much warmer than a public swimming pool.
Yes, we use water babies in Brislington too - honestly the best class we go to!
Turtle Tots at Penny Porter pool was great, we did a term to learn basics and now doing some solo stuff. Have heard good things about Dinky Dolphins at Filton pool (book for single sessions and £5 I think)
I did turtle tots with my son but they are all the same, it is a lot of money but Its worth paying as the pools are hydrotherapy so a lot warmer than a public pool 🧊 We did it upto him being 8months old then switched to active leisure centre lessons as he could handle the cold temperature then. He’s 3 and can swim unaided and much more confident than children who didn’t do lessons from a early age( teachers have commented on it shows as he’s super confident) He started at 12 weeks. straight away we were dunking him under the water, we’d make a worle pool in the water and have to pop the babies underwater and they’d back up further along. Pop them underwater through a hoop and catch them. At 3 months he’d hold the wall on his own. By 6months he’d hold the wall, sit on edge and throw himself in as a game of Humpty Dumpty. We’d do peekaboo where both of us would go under water. All lots of fun for the babies and can swap who does the sessions with you & dad x
I compared water babies with aquatic harmony . I found Aquatic Harmony to be cheaper with the same program of study as water babies. One of their sessions is at the Hilton in Bradley Stoke but they do sessions in other locations too.
We do water babies and it’s great. They teach you how to safely get your little one underwater and when not to try, how to do front and back swimming safely and they do it with songs and nursery rhymes. We do ours at abbots leigh. It’s expensive but worth it in my opinion.
