By time the itching and bumps begins, the virus is just about done thank goodness. But oatmeal baths were a godsend. And I kept him lathered in coconut oil, cetaphil, or hemp lotion. (Hemp lotion was mine I bought from a farmers market) And not holistic, but I did Benadryl a few times as well.

Benadryl anti itch ointment, LOTS of moisturizer, and keep them covered from head to toe at all times!

Rub coconut oil in your little ones skin , long bath with Epson salt and essential oils , elderberry syrup and aloe Vera gel

I’m a big holistic mama so trust me what I mentioned works but takes a little time

If they’re not eating well and depending on the age, you can mix Benadryl and mylanta based off weight and squirt it into their mouth to help with any mouth or throat sores. Not very holistic but it helps dry and coat the sores. You could also apply aquaphor with a pea sized amount of hydrocortisone cream 1x a day on the sores after they have a bath with oatmeal. Coconut oil seems to also help with the inflammation and has anti-septic properties. Round the clock Tylenol and Motrin to help with pain and inflammation based on age and weight for dose. Push fluids as much as you can. Protein shakes if they’re not eating well. Pedialyte. Syringe it into their mouth if they’re refusing. It’s rough, wishing you the best 🥰

Coconut oil helped the most

I forgot to mention: if you’re still breastfeeding your milk will help with sores in their mouth!

I respect wanting to go holistic, but don't rule out medications if necessary. This kids disease can seriously hurt people with cancer. Sorry not to be helpful, but I just don't want you to underestimate it.

Our pediatrician gave us a prescription cream. I mixed that with hydrocortisone anti-itch cream. Thankfully my little really only had it on her feet so we just kept cream and socks on 24/7. Hope your babe feels better!
