@Raimonda 🌻 thanks! but I was more so wondering if it’s likely we would get sick if they were ever so slightly undercooked.
I’m sure you’ll be the be okay, I’d say very low likelihood xx
@Kiera thank you! they were very thin so I thought it was probably unlikely to make us ill, I just get so paranoid though🙈
You can eat all the ingredients of a pancake raw, same with cake batter, cookie dough! As long as the items were in date, then you should have no problems❤️ Little added on to this; in the UK, our eggs are 100% safe to eat raw which is why I said it was fine as the hens are vaccinated, it’s actually a common practice for people on certain diets. Been eating raw batter for cakes and pancakes since I was a child and nothing ever happened. You have the same amount of risks on veggies, salad items and fruits too!
Registered dietitian here - your LO will very likely be totally fine. The chance of a food borne illness is low to begin with and while the batter was gooey, it was also likely heated to a food safe temperature especially if it was thin. At any rate, there’s nothing to do about it but wait and see what happens. To the other comments - lemon water will do absolutely nothing in this situation. All it might provide is a little acidity, but the ph of lemon water is absolutely nothing compared to your stomach acid so if that won’t neutralize any bacteria, lemon water consumed well after the fact certainly won’t. Also, it is not safe to eat raw batter of any kind. Both eggs and flour can have bacterial contaminants regardless of expiration date. Again, it’s not likely to get sick if you look at the statistics, but it’s also not totally safe and it is a good idea to cook anything made with flour and eggs — especially if you are giving it to a child.
You better don't eat eggs row 🤢 Motherhood is paranoid sometimes. It's ok. It's to learn and stay alert. Be more mindful 💕 I hope if they was not so we'll done . You gonna have easy poopies soon xixi 🌞 🌊
@Natalie thank you! they were roasting so yeah they would’ve been a food safe temperature! I’m just paranoid as I have emetophobia so the thought of being the reason my own child gets sick is so nerve wracking x
Depends where you're based but if you're in the UK even completely raw eggs are safe.
@Caroline I’m uk based😊 so thank you!
Drink lemon water to help flush it 🌊
