Would you be offended by a primark gift?

I’ve been friends with someone for a year and she has invited me to the baby shower for her second child. She said she didn’t want anything but I got her a couple of little gifts anyway. I am a single parent on a low income so I got a small present from primark and an outfit for the baby from Zara. It’s the first time I’m meeting all of her friends and family and I’m not the best in social situations. I don’t want to be embarrassed by giving her something from primark. Am I just overthinking and being silly?

I wouldn't be offended, I would even appreciate second-hand good quality gifts. I'm sure she knows you mean well and it's the thought that counts ☺️

Don’t be daft that’s a perfect baby shower gift!! 💝 it’s for family to get the big stuff. Just a small gift as a token gesture is more than enough xxx

No way! Unless she’s a pretentious prick, she’ll hopefully just appreciate that you were kind enough to spend your money on anything for her/her baby. You’ve got nothing to feel embarrassed about!

No way a gift is a gift! Lovely that you have bought something x

Aw no a gift is a gift. It’s ’the thought that counts’ an all that. We all shop from Primark don’t we?! It’s nice you’ve gotten her something, I wouldn’t say you’re over thinking as such but I wouldn’t dwell on it x

No way at all! The best gift we received for our son was his Poundland comforter teddy he bloody loves it! Unless she's a snob she won't care at all!

I absolutely wouldn’t be offended and would be really touched by your thoughtfulness. It sounds like you bought some lovely gifts and she is very lucky to have such a caring friend 🥰

I don’t think I would even think of getting a gift for the mother but then I’ve never been to a baby shower before.

Thank you everyone for being so kind xx
