Following this coz I’ve been thinking the same thing

Not necessary, I had a 3rd degree tear and used a cheaper lanolin spray which worked great at healing. The cooling effect was really nice but not sure if I’d say it’s an essential, think it would’ve healed the same regardless

I used the Frida witch hazel foam on pads and I got really on with that even bought another pair his time around

Never used anything for my 2nd degree tear and was fine

Invest in a peri bottle! That was my life saver. I did have the spritz for bits but because it was bought for me. Like others have said there’s definitely cheaper alternatives that are as good x

I got mine off vinted brand new for £5! Shop around x

To me personally I found it worth it, had a lot of stitches and it releieved discomfort but also made me feel cleaner which was a nice feeling after childbirth and stitches and everything

Haven’t used yet but I’ve heard very good things. all the My Expert Midwife range is on offer in Asda for their baby event btw so if you do wanna get some for a bit cheaper go there as I agree it is expensive

I was given a bottle first time around - never used it. Saved it for second just in case… didn’t use it and I had an episiotomy that time, was very swollen and sore. Cleaning with a peri bottle was enough for me 🤷🏻‍♀️

I put a drop of tea tree oil in my peri bottle and that helped wonderfully.i would definitely get a peri bottle, makes it so much easier to go to the loo and helps with the pain.

I used a peri bottle which was great for soothing. I also put some aloe Vera on pads and popped them in the freezer for a bit so they gave me that cooling effect which was soothing too. I had a second degree tear and didn’t feel the need for the spritz for bits! The peri bottle was definitely my most helpful postpartum item though, think I got it for quite cheap from Amazon!

@Emily thanks for the this advice, I just found one on Vinted for £6.50 with delivery! 😁

@Brigitte you’re welcome lovely! It’s my first baby so I’d rather have EVERYTHING than not 🤣🤣 x

Didn’t do anything for me x

I had an episiotomy and it was so worth it for the discomfort relief

Look on the second hand websites as lots of people buy it and then don’t used it for whatever reason - I had a c section so didn’t need it! That reminds me, I need to put my bottle up for sale 😝

I had a severe third degree tear. Had to have a spinal block to repair and it numbed down there for so long I never needed it 😂😂

I did not, I was told just water is the best thing and using other products can increase chances of infection

Buy it off Vinted - I got mine for a fiver brand new x

I bought it and only used it about twice. I really didn't like the smell. Plus I didn't really feels like I needed it. I had a 3rd degree teae
