iPad Rentals

I think you’ll find you will barely look at your phone amusing a toddler on a plane 🤣 so won’t be an issue one of you giving it up for them. Someone told me some airports do it but it was like £25 a day when they looked into it so probably better off buying one than renting by the sounds of the cost! - they were looking for ipad for the car when they hired a car abroad.

Sacrificing your phone is a small price to pay for a happy baby, just pre download some bits for her…

@Leonie I’m being so hopeful that she’ll sit nicely or at least nap for an hour! It’ll be so different from when she was 10 months and couldn’t move a muscle 😭 Oof that’s steep. I think my partner is on side with buying one, he’ll probably be using it the most out of us 3 anyway as she doesn’t have screen time usually 😂

@Emma I know it’s a small price and that was always going to be the plan. Just thinking of ways to keep us all happy which is okay too, as 4 hours is 4 weeks in toddler time

You can get an Amazon fire tablet for kids which is significantly cheaper than an iPad. You can have shows on there and games etc

@Annabelle I was thinking of this potentially but she won’t be having her own device for a very long time! At least with an iPad it would get more use between myself and my partner.

I was also going to mention the Amazon tablets. I’m tempted by one as an alternative to giving her ours. I feel nervous about taking the step of buying her a tablet so for now it would be for special occasions like travel and long journeys.

@Ruth that’s true and we’re pretty much the same tbh. I think we’re personally okay with it being a family one for now until she’s a bit older. At least we won’t be tempted to let her have it casually as that’s always the risk with us 😂

I can testify that you will not have time to play on your phone on the plane while entertaining a toddler on a 4 hour flight… sorry but it’s the truth! Our boy was due his nap also but only fell asleep when we touched down on foreign soil. It wasn’t a difficult flight - just busy keeping him entertained.

@Farheen haha to clarify, we’re defo not expecting to sit there on our phones, it was more to listen to music for a little bit, at least one of us at a time will be able to 🥲 she probably won’t have screen time for the majority of the flight anyway as we will be bringing things to entertain, screen time is the last resort.

Just to clarify everyone, we’re not naive to knowing how toddlers (especially our little girl) operate and we know this won’t be a walk in the park! We’ve done a flight at 10 months which is nothing compared to what this will be. Just exploring options and appreciate the advice and suggestions 😅 We’re probably going to buy an iPad it seems anyway but thank you all xx

We have an Amazon fire tablet for my 4 year old but have brought one for my daughter as we fly to Greece in 2 weeks. we don’t plan on letting her have it day to day but knew we needed something for the plan. There’s only so far snacks and little toys will go! X
