If you feel with your tongue to the back of your gums where your cheek meets it, pop the syringe there in LOs mouth and push the smallest amounts at a time, let them swallow and repeat x
Only do a little bit at the time and squeeze it into their cheek. That really helped me. My son absolutely hates calpol and tries to spit it out but can’t seem to if we do a little bit at the sides of his cheeks.
Is your LO bottlefed? If so I put the bottle lid in her mouth and squirt it in her teet and she takes it really well
Blow on their face after you squirt a bit in and they swallow had to start using this with my LO because he hates it now too
Thanks all
Friday baby have a dummy you can attach to a syringe we found it worked well! Got ours from boots but Amazon sell them too
I was in the exact same situation with my daughter’s jabs! My daughter used to gag on it and vomit it up with some feed. However yesterday for her 16 week ones I just did the most minute amounts through the syringe and tilted her back. She hated it but she needed it as she was spiking a temp! Does yours take a bottle? I’ve heard putting it in a bottle teat and getting them to suck it that way can work. Mine is EBF and won’t suck a bottle teat at all so couldn’t try that. I did speak to the nurse doing the jabs and she said you can freeze it if baby likes sucking on a cold expressed milk pop and mix it in with milk. But then she might not get the full amount was my worry so I just persevered with small amounts and leaning her back!
