Snacks to take into hospital

I see everyone taking snacks into the hospital when having baby but as I’m getting induced I’m not sure how long I’ll be in there for and I just want to know what snacks are ok to take in that won’t spike my blood as I know they will be checking it every couple hours and I hate hospital food so hopefully some suggestions that are more filling as well.

I took some cut veggies in lunch bag with an ice pack, whole wheat crackers, a squeeze-able peanut butter, and some protien shakes.

I'm here now! lol the hospital I'm at has really great and seasoned foods! But I would bring peanut butter crackers, yogurt, cheesesticks, Graham crackers, anything you can think of you like in snack form.. basically treat yourself like a toddler on vacation 😅 Now that I'm editing.. Get you some Lunchables and prepackaged snacks from the cheese section of a grocery store. make some sandwiches or wraps that you like and cut them up for snack sizes, fruits and veggies of your choice, and some sugar free drinks or Ice Water for some flavor in choices!

There's no fridge and I got moved about wards a lot for my induction so didn't take anything properly chilled. A big bag of nuts, lentil crisps and a tub of veg sticks. I ate the hospital meals too which weren't very GD friendly but picked the best options I could and didn't spike my sugars so it was fine. Take some treats for after you'll need the sugar and have earnt it!

Depends on your hospital. I have a small fridge I'm my room.

It’s hard to know what I want to eat aswell because I suffered with HG as well and am mentally scarred from certain foods so it’s difficult to know what I want and but I’ll try some of these suggestions
