@Carney that’s an exactly what we said lol! We’re like are we doing this wrong?? It’s very frustrating as I know it’s the nursery policy but he just consistently has no temperature at home!
Milo’s nursery have taken his temperature a few times but never sent him home they’ve just given me a call or text to see if he could be teething or if I know of any problems so he can have calpol n if not they just monitor him until home time Could be that one of your thermometers are reading wrong but if it’s anything like our nursery they get the thermometers checked
It could be either your thermometer or theirs isn’t accurate. I always think the inner ear ones work best
@Katie yeah unfortunately our nursery policy is they send them home if they have a temperature though
@Rosie thanks Rosie! I’ll have to try the inner ear one again! We tried it before but he was having none of it but perhaps we need to persist more!
We’ve had this twice. The first time we got him straight into the drs (because he suffers with ear infections) and the temp was 36.4. The GP just sort of rolled his eyes. The second time, I took his temp as soon as we got home and it was 36.3. We thought it was because he was being clingy x
Our doesn’t use the inner ear (due to our LB suffering with ear infection) it’s the head and chest one. I think that’s just a strip that’s placed on them x
We use a forehead thermometer. Does your nursery not offer calpol before sending home, as some nurseries offer calpol to see if that brings the temperature down x
My nursery is the same, sends home with a temperature. It’s because if they’re unwell they don’t want to infect all the other kids too. We’ve also had it where we’ve got home and he’s been fine and his temp has been lower than what they said.
Yes we had this and challenged them, they use a forehead thermometer and the baby room is quite warm so sometimes it reads higher if they are warm. Very annoying 😩 we've had three days they've called us to pick her up as temp high but got home and she was fine ( used three different thermometers)! Think it's common 🫣
We have the same issue! And I 100% think it’s down to the heat which can be frustrating but have the same scenario, it’s hard to know what to do though! At this point I’m wondering if I need to buy a better thermometer 😅
