Hi all, i know its not the best but having a little craving for a redbull. 21 weeks and havent had one since getting pregnant. Is it safe to drink one off? Anyone that might have had this in previous pregnancies?

This is really controversial but I used to have sips here and there in my first pregnancy because I’d crave it so much… I think it’s because the amount of caffeine in the can isn’t good for the baby so I’d definitely NOT drink the full can

As long as the whole can is under 140mg of caffeine a one off would be fine. If in doubt just drink enough to satisfy and not finish :) we're allowed no more than 140mg a day and my midwife said as long as the drinks I'm consuming are under this then they're relatively safe in moderation - like coffee. I did however feel the baby moved a lot more when I had something that was higher concentrated in caffeine, but as mentioned I didn't have a full can, only maybe half a can and I was satisfied :)

@Kim isn’t it 200mg a day? X

@Jessica haha my midwife must've gave me outdated info as the sheet I had said 140mg :) I don't do caffeine anyway due to an overactive bladder I've been caffeine free for years 😅 x

I’ve had a few sips of my husbands today (for the first time since being pregnant) because it was the only drink in the room, I don’t think a couple sips will do much harm x

God I hope it’s 200mg 🤣🤣

@Carlie this was my reaction 😂 x
