@Lola that’s why I mentioned the two trick or treaters I’d be with, the sweets would likely be going to them. I was planning on not particularly taking sweets unless someone Insists though. I took my brother last year and a lot of people in my area insist on everyone taking something
You could always have your own bucket of fake spiders and Halloween candy and when you say trick or treat the people who's house you knock on if they said trick you could give them a spider and if they say treat you give them a Lolly :) just a thought, Id still walk around in a costume because I can 🤣 x
I think he’d be too little to go trick or treating and would probably just be really cold tbh! As others have said why don’t you decorate your front door and dress up and then you can make it special for older children knocking and your baby can still be involved but from the warm 😊 x
It would look strange if it was just you and a 5 month old but you’re with other people. I say do it! They will love the lights and people in costumes, as long as they’re wrapped up warm it’s all fine. Halloween is also my favourite holiday, my LB was 10 months old last year and we dressed up, decorated the house. He helped hand out sweets (he threw them at people😂) , he kept crawling to the door pushing the bucket of sweets when the door knocked. X
Last Halloween my baby was 4 days old & my oldest was 3 1/2 years old. We still went & we had the best time. So I would say. Yes 100% go!!!
This year me and my husband decided since our baby is only 4 months to just spend our last Halloween together due to our baby being to little for halloween our son will be with grandma passing out candy he’s to fussy to many loud kids loud things dangerous things at night exc. when he is 1 we will take him and enjoy certain things with him but for now the days before Halloween we’re taking pictures at the pumpkin patch ofc course take pictures in our costumes and Halloween day me and my husband will spend our last Halloween together
Hmm so he’d essentially just be going for a walk in the pram or a carrier? He’s too young to actually do anything. The things I’d be worried about are timings (interrupting bedtime), being scared of any costumes and noises and the cold. I’m not bothered about Halloween so I’d probably just wait till next year when he’s toddling about but up to you 😊
Our first Halloween we just put my son in a Halloween outfit and he sat out with us while we passed out candy. There was one family who brought around their 9 month old and actually got candy. I silently judged them as the baby wasn’t old enough for candy and no other kids. I think it’s fine if you dress up baby and walk around with everyone. If just watch the weather and opt out if it’s too cold. Last year we took him to a few houses so he could have a few sweets. We’ll try to make it all the way around the block this year. He’s 2 now.
It’s a lovely idea to take him along and dress him up all cute, if you knocked my door I’d love seeing a little bub dressed up 🥰
It’s a cute idea but many babies have been getting sick and Covid still exists. I think it’s best to have a cute photo shoot at home instead with your baby boy. He would look cute in an animal costume maybe a cute puppy outfit. My baby is gonna be a bat and a pumpkin
If you want to take your little one with the group while trick or treating I think it's fine but I wouldn't take any candy since it wouldn't be for the baby. I would also ask the other children if they are okay with the baby coming because if the baby gets fussy or starts screaming it could ruin the experience for the children who actually know what's going on. Personally we are dressing up our little one and handing out candy instead of taking any.
We took my son when he was 8 months old and ate all the treats ourselves, no shame. Our neighborhood we lived in at the time was filled with young families, so I even saw a family with only a newborn out trick or treating. We didn't go to every house or stay out very long, but it was fun to show off our costumes, chat with neighbors, and get a few treats! If a family with a very young infant came to our door, I wouldn't think anything of it and would give them the candy because that first year is hard and they deserve a treat too!
We are going with my nephew! I’d be surpised if anyone thought anything of it! It’s not strange at all, well I don’t think so anyway. I want my little Boy to Be included with it all, he will be wrapped up warm in his pushchair 😊 xx
I've had trick or treaters come to the door with babies dressed up super cute but usually there are other children who collect the sweets and baby is just there. We got a cute bat costume for our son ☺️

@Ella hahhaa that was quite good and cute
I think he’s too little.. you’ll essentially be taking the sweets for yourself no? I think he can still dress up and you can have trick or treaters come to you and take part in that sense. Xx
