Choking anxiety ?

I gave my almost 7 month old a teething wafer and he really liked it but I was so anxious the entire time…we’ve only done purées up until now . How do you get past the anxiety of “what if they choke?” I’d like to try more Whole Foods with him but I’m just so nervous …

I felt the exact same way! My doctor told me not to worry it so much and I read that choking isn’t as common as people think. I also watched some videos on what to do if baby is choking so those things combined made me less nervous. But I totally resonate with you

Suuuper rare for baby to choke girl. Their bodies have extremely good reflexes!! (Thank god) totally understand your feelings behind it. I’ve been starting to let him naw on whole nanas, soft pears, avocado, steamed carrot etc.. it’s really scary but they do a really good job, actually!!!

Put baby in his high chair or whatever you have for meal time, that is the best position for them. But do not put the straps on him!!!! Those are for later. If baby chokes you are wasting valuable time trying to unbuckle while panicking. Not a good combo. Everything will go great mama!!! It really isn’t as common as one would think

Download Solid Starts app and it tells you how to cut different things to reduce the risk of choking. It helped me to get over my anxiety.
