Identical twins are 1 in 250 chances for everyone and non identical twins ( DCDA ) are usually genetically from the motherās genes. Thereās nothing you can do to increase the chances Iām afraid.
Just remember, twins are high risk and high reward, it's very challenging, and you might not enjoy the idyllic perception of what twins is like ...yes it's double the love , and double the cuddles etc but it's also half of your time split between two babies , the twin life chooses you I'm afraid xx
Identical twins are a gift through genetics . However multiple babies can be done via IVF and some medication that cause ovulation which rippen more than one egg but the latter often recommended for women who canāt conceive anyways . But multiple birth have a dire high risk of everything, defect , conjoined , parasite twin etc just accept what you been given .
I did nothing tbh. I wasnāt even trying to get pregnant. I know with my daughter I had a tumor removed and using fertility drugs but that was well over a year since I took them! I will say that my father is a twin though
Clomid has given a lot of people twins . Itās a fertility medication
Had a miscarriage. You are more fertile post pregnancy. Theres also some links being made with a higher chance of twins if youāve recently had covid or using a weight loss drug like ozempic/mounjaro etc I personally as a midwife and a twin mum would not recommend anyone actively trying fad diets to get pregnant with twins it was a horrendous pregnancy. Multiples also come with so many more risks and the newborn stage is HARD!
@Ceri-Ann honestly I donāt dream of twins.. one child is hard enough
@Justina is it safe ???
We think I hyper ovulated due to long term supplementation (as I donāt tolerate medication) for adhd. I also though would not recommend it. As wonderful as having twins is, the incidence of pnd for mothers of multiples is higher for a reason, itās tough.
I have faternal twins, i have twins in my family so im guessing thats where i got it from. I agree with one of the comments the newborn stage is hard! I guess there is nothing you can do its just luck
Well you could do what my husband and I did and be on birth control šThatās a joke but due to the hormones - if you conceive at all - your chance of getting identical twins increases slightly. Fraternal twins run in families, so that would depend on your genetics. Your chances of conceiving twins are really low no matter what you do. Why do you want twins in the first place? If youāre someone who wants more out of life than family, it might not be the dream you think it is. Theyāre cute but theyāre high risk and painful to carry, and donāt forget, youāre the one who has to take care of them - it becomes your entire life for a while and you have no time for yourself, or your friends, or your hobbies. And forget financial freedom and traveling the world. Sure, there will be some great things about it, but Iām not looking forward to the sacrifices Iāll have to make that I otherwise wouldnāt with just one baby.
Is this status for real? Like you can't change your diet to have twins š there's NOTHING you can do to increase your chances unless you do IVF (even that doesn't always work) then its just down to genetics/sheer luck if you get pregnant with them or not!
Not want kids, be on bc, and lots of alcohol šš¤·š»āāļø

@Sabrina sometimes twin pregnancy is very very difficult and can be dangerous especially with what kind of pregnancy you end up with.
As a twin mum I personally would not wish for twins. You can have more complications and risks during your pregnancy, and itās just so much harder! I love my babies and would die for them but not gonna lie I envy mums who donāt have twins š¤·š¼āāļø I wouldnāt change anything but also wouldnāt wish them upon others x

@Sabrina yes ⦠itās prescribed for people . You can do your research too xx
Agree with what people are saying having twins is not easy and can be extremely stressful especially if you have mo/di or mo/mo twins...but doing ivf and being over 35 increases your chances.
Itās nice that you even asked. Twins moms in my option (not all) but most are just so cruel with this question because God forbid if you want to be a twin mother and have twins of your own. I appreciate the twin mothers who share the risks of it and understands IT IS NORMAL TO DESIRE AND WANT TWINS! Plenty of things in life is a risk and that doesnāt slow you down or stop you from STILL desiring it! š¤ And yes, there is a way to conceive twins with diet and supplementation. Do your research. Align your diet. Pray, manifest and visualization. Choose their names and do Faith purchases knowing that they are already yours. People literally are hiking Mount Everest day in and day out KNOWING theyāre walking past dead bodies. 𤣠Women are just mean. Girl find a caring and loving, understanding twin mom and sheāll sprinkle twin baby dust on you! Iām so glad my grandmother DESIRED twins and birthed my aunts and MY MOTHER! All in Haiti. She only had one ovary and God answered her!
@Monica agreed!!! I literally manifested my twins from the time I was 7-8 years old. I told my mom "one day when I'm a mommy I'm gonna have a boy and girl twins like JLo" I played like that the rest of childhood, met my fiance when we were 15 and we always talked about how cool it would be to have twins. I had 3 miscarriages and all 3 of my best friends would always say when my time came I'd get my twins. I had no genetic, age, ethnicity, or weight components in my corner at all. I got pregnant the month in between getting off birth control and when I planned to start trying again. But I just knew there were going to be two sacs on that screen when we checked on them for the first time. And now my boy girl twins are almost 20m old!
We have 6 sets of twins in three generations on my momās side, including my mom, so I always knew I was high risk. I hyper ovulate which is a genetic trait, and therefore⦠I have my girls. But having one set of multiples makes you higher risk to have another set, and having two babies at once is so, so hard.
@Kylee I love your story so much!! Thank you for sharing!! š¤
