Cows milk allergy - new formula and bottle size

My 4 week old LG has just been put onto Aptamil pepti 1 after weeks of battling reflux and colic amongst other symptoms (her dad also has a cows milk allergy) but where this formula is thinner than anti-reflux she is dribbling a lot when being fed and also waking and crying with hunger within 3 hours (used to go a lot longer and sleep between feeds). I’m looking for some advice from parents who have been through the same thing, I’m thinking of making 5oz bottles to ensure she’s still getting her 4oz with the excessive dribbling. She’s also started spitting up milk but also mostly saliva? Has anyone come across this in a 4 week old baby? I have also read that you can get a formula thickener from the GP which I am considering to stop the dribbling. Please tell me someone has been through the same minefield as me within the first 4 weeks!

We had this without first. He simply did not get on with Pepti 1 and in the end we got prescribed neocate which is vile stuff, smelt like the water after you have boiled potatoes in but little man loved it. It was defo thicker than Pepti. It's more expensive for GP than Pepti so is not first line. Speak to gp about tickener for sure but also make sure you are getting a referral to a specialist too. We only got some real guidance when we saw a paediatrician who had a special interest in allergies (privately!)

There’s a group on here who specifically deal with cows milk allergies and it’s got thousands of members in, I’d definitely mention what you’ve said in there I had a look at some of the posts in there and they are like encyclopaedias for all the different milks you can get prescribed lol definitely worth a shot x
