No food in hospital

I just want to rant. I had an emergency cesarean and after the hospital couldn't offer any vegan food. I have been vegan for 10 years. They had a vegan menu! But when I tried to order from it, the person said I couldn't get it. She was extremely unhelpful. I was trapped in bed with a paralysed lower half from the surgery. So I couldn't even get up to find help. It was horrible I was so hungry. There was no milk alternatives for hot drinks so I was left with only having water. I left the next morning not because I wanted to but because I had to. It was my first baby and its completely put me off having more kids. The slow walk out of hospital hurt with every step but I had no option but to leave.

Ugh, I’m sorry! I had a similar experience back with my firstborn. Told them I was vegan and they didn’t understand a thing and brought me a bunch of dairy products along with chicken noodle soup. Thankfully my husband brought me chipotle or I would have gotten really bad vertigo.

Uhm I would’ve asked to speak whose in charge

They told me I couldn’t have a side salad or pizza, but I could have soup and a sandwich? It was so fucking weird The food person on the phone said my chart had dietary restrictions placed by the surgeon, and I was like so why send me a full menu where I can have non of the options

Urgh so sorry to hear that. I’m going to take loads of food and a flask of tea/tea bags because I’m worried about exactly this! So wierd they had a vegan menu but wouldn’t give you something from it
