baby crying inconsolably

so my 4 month old is usually super chilled and happy. today she woke up from a 2h nap in the carrier at 3pm, fed for half an hour and then just cried inconsolably - tried feeding her again, changing nappy, winding, burping, checking she's not too hot/cold, checked for rashes, checked her temperature, given her lots of cuddles - the only thing thats settled her is going into the sling with my husband and just sleeping again, and even then she's been whimpering in her sleep. she did a poo this morning. i know she's baby and they cry but she was so upset and its really unusual for her - and she'd just napped for 2 hours so she can't have been tired?! anyone any ideas as to anything we could've missed? could it just be a growth spurt?

Check for teething, bottom front teeth. Can you see/feel? Do they feel swollen? Dribbling more? Red cheeks? Biting more? Mine is teething and went from super chilled to insanely inconsolable overnight and really upset me but realised he’s getting teeth🥺

@Rosie ah this also crossed our minds - usually she self-settles by sucking her thumb but she was too hysterical to even do that, and my husband gave her his finger to suck and she didn't want it!
