Stem Cell Therapy for Autism šŸØ

Hello everyone, I need help from anyone who has information on this. After I give birth, I am planning on getting stem cells, blood, and cord separated from the placenta and stored, but the only issue I'm having at the moment is I can't find a clinic in the UK where they do this treatment. This is for my sister, so besides needing a clinic to do the treatment, we need to see if she's a match. Has anyone gone through this procedure before/Any information on Clinics.

Is this trying to cure autism? Or am I just reading it wrong.

You should never try and cure autism. You should never try and make us better. It’s a disability not a disease. That’s some autism speaks shit.

Stem cell therapy isn't really done in the UK. It's not a cure for autism. I know someone who went to Mexico for stem cell therapy for their child it cost them £'000's

@Robyn well said my toddler is autistic and I wouldn’t change a hair on his head. šŸ’™

I mean it’s okay for her to ask for advice about it without bashing her guys. She’s just trying to help her sister. I never heard of this before but it sounds interesting. Good luck!

@Kels Thank you, I appreciate your comment. I told my parents about this app, and they asked if I could put up a post for anyone who's had experience with the above as we are looking for advice and information on if someone has gone through this in the UK. Everyone has a right to their opinion on things, and all my parents are trying to do is help my sister, I never said it's a treatment to cure but I guess if people haven't looked into it they will bash you. It is what it is.

@Robyn You are infact reading the post wrong.

@Robyn Please do your research before trying to bash me for asking for advice. The Stem Cell Therapy is not a cure. Stem cell therapy for autism says that it canĀ reduce autism characteristics. They say it can improve behaviour, anxiety, social skills, communication, speech, and ability to focus. And even if there was a cure and my parents wanted it for their child, then that's their descion.

@Naomi We spoke to a popular clinic in Istanbul, and they said $18,000. Thought it would be easier if there's somewhere in the UK instead of travelling out to a different country. We're going to do more research but in the meantime we're holding the stem cells in a bank just incase we need them in the future.

I know there is banks where you can store I was thinking about that and I regret we didn't done as my boy I suspect he maybe at spectrum. They do in Germany stem cell therapy and I think some uk companies what specialise with it work with Germany one as they are Europe leaders in this field I will look into this. Stem cell therapy doesn't cure autism but helps child I'm waiting for referral but also looking/ research about this as well. Please if you will know something let is know . I ask question here bug no one answered šŸ˜” on tik tok there is a family who documents whole process and he starts communicating with parents. But they do in Mexico.

Hi Kristina, I was also pregnant this year with my second (my 4 year old is autistic) and wondered the same but decided not to do the stem cells for my older one as they told me they can't use any of these from family members. I spoke to Swiss Medical dn the Turkish one. Feel free to inbox me.

@Kristina I’m not bashing you. I am autistic so I can come across as brash sometimes without meaning too. I say it simply from my personal experience of ā€œwell you should try and be curedā€ when in fact that’s the last thing that should happen. I wear headphones, have sensory supports and I try to be social. Extreme anxiety but I work on it through support not therapy. Your family can do what they want but I’m just putting it out there that it can be offensive to people with autism to try and cure it. I understand now I’ve read it wrong which is why I asked in the first place so please don’t have a go for me not understanding

I know someone who went to india for this treatment and she said it helped her boy speak. He was non verbal at 4 years old. Good luck x

@Robyn My apologies, I'm still learning 🫣

@Kristina it’s okay! I struggle with reading the tone of a chat šŸ™ sorry

@Robyn live and let live. If you are happy with the way you are that’s fine. If people want an easier life for themselves and their kids and that perfectly fine too. Don’t project on people. Looking for a way to make things easy doesn’t mean a person is in denial. What is wrong with you people? In years to come they may still find a treatment and by then what? Let people do what pleases them.

@Kristina there are lots of places outside UK that you can look at. I don’t know if you can trade to reduce the amount but for now, look at India. They are by far the cheapest. As I said, not sure they’ll trade. The price is $8k. Then Mexico, panama and even the US are also places that do stem cell transfers to autistic individuals. Wishing you the best

It costs thousands a month to store stem cells think it's like £3000 a month

@Sabrina We already have this side of things sorted, which costed us a one-off payment of £2,890 which includes the storage + them coming on the day of birth to sort of the cells and send them off to the lab. With this price, they store them up to 24 years, and we only have to pay £120 a year after the one-off payment.

@Yewande The pricing isn't much of an issue, and that's not me trying to sound snobby. But we wanted to avoid having to travel outside the country and was hoping their was a clinic in the UK. One of the options my family is considering is Turkey, But fingers crossed something opens up in the UK

@Robyn Don't be sorry for struggling to read the tone of the chat love, You're all good šŸ’œ My family are just looking for a way to make my sisters life easier, Maybe I could of worded my post a little better šŸ˜‚ x

I am not familiar with any of this so I cannot comment on that but I will say with how crazy long wait list are in the UK maybe she can get on some for therapies to help make things easier if whatever else tried doesn’t work. Therapy has done amazing things for my son he’s been doing it since 19 months

Hi can I message you, I’m interested in doing this for my son

Same, I would like to do this for my son.

There is any group here about that?

@Tamanna Of course you can love 🩷

@Jay hi Jay, what kind of therapy helped your son?

@Maria Hi ! Occupational therapy has really helped him, he is also in speech and doing well, no words but better at expressive communication.
