SSI question

Hi. I live in Michigan and just got ssi for my son. He only qualifies for $387 because we live with family, don’t pay rent or have any other expenses. No food benefits just some SSI. Question: If I was to move out, would our SSI money increase because I will have my own bills; rent ? I’m new to this so please be kind I don’t know everything. Thanks in advance

WHEN YOU MOVE OUT IT SHOULD GO TO 967....BUT YOULL BE ABLE TO GET SNAP AND CASH ASSISTANCE

@Mimie thank you for the feedback. You have no idea how hard it is for people to communicate and talk about SSI in anyway shape or form. I’m a newbie and all the people who been doing SSI for years won’t enlighten me about anything. Thank you again 🙂

IVE BEEN DOING IT FOR 5 YEARS SHUG HAVE ANY MORE QUESTIONS

@Mimie thank you dear 💗

Yes but also you would have to make sure you move to a place that goes by income unless you have extra money as well because they max out at the number the other girl mentioned. But also... I know it's kind of lying but if you said you had to pay 200 for rent or something you may qualify for more money

And also if you went to apply for food stamps and said you pay everything for you guys that's different. They probably assume your family pays everything for you guys. I even mention my phone cost for the month to help with ours (getting food stamps)

THIS^ USE HUD AND FIND ONES THAT DO SLIDING SCALE BASED OFF INCOME

GET MEDICAL ASSISTANCE ALSO

Yes for sure.

When I lived w my mom I kept all my benefits by telling them I was expected to pay half of a few bills and buy my own groceries for me and my daughter. Which wasnt true the whole time because she's my mom and helped me out at first. That doesn't hurt tho especially in this economy and helped to ever move out again in the first place. Otherwise I would still be there ngl lol

Ladies; thank you sm for the advice. Will be going to good use
