World book day outfits

Hi all, I would love some recommendations for world book day clothes for a 18 month old. Her favourite characters are chickens, specifically Rosie, and I'm at a loss. I'm not in a good financial position to buy anything... Any recommendations?

Can’t help with chickens but drawing different coloured squares on a tshirt makes a cheap, easy Elmer costume 👌🏻

It’s a nursery day for my little boy and didn’t want to go too OTT and also something that he could rewear, so I got an outfit from Tesco that is a two piece that’s Winnie the Pooh themed as it’s his favourite Tonies character & he loves the stories. It can then go into circulation as a nursery outfit. You could check Vinted for options and there may be lots of outfits that are chicken themed with Easter coming up!

I think we’re doing Dorothy from Wizard of Oz, only because she has a blue gingham dress already and her hair is long enough for bunches. I refuse to buy anything! Maybe a toy dog because she will actually love that.

My 5 year old is being the black cat Wilbur from the Winnie the Witch books (black clothes with cat ears), but our other option was Peter Rabbit (denim jacket) Both options that are doable with mostly just regular clothes! Those are my favourite kinds

Dorothy is a great idea too, i could do that! I was trying to think of characters with normal clothes but the books she is drawn mostly too are animals 😅

I got a Woody costume from Vinted for £3 but we also have a fireman outfit that my little boy has in his toy box. Have you got any outfits that already have characters on rather than making or buying?
