Advice for reflux baby

Im a FTM after some advice on my 7 week old boy with reflux, we’ve tried carobel but that didn’t really do anything! So the GP prescribed gaviscon which is really helping with his reflux but has made him constipated, the GP then prescribed lactulose but it’s given him really bad wind. To the point where he screams and doesn’t want to eat much. I’m at a lost what to do as if I stop the gaviscon his reflux then plays up but he needs the lactulose as he’s constipated with it. I was just wondering if anyone has had similar experience and any advice? Would you recommend changing milk or going back to the GP? I just feel like there not really listening to what I’m saying! Any advice would be really appreciated!

I use gripe water, and Mylicon and they work well if I use them together half a dose of each for my daughter

Also before I burp her I do gentle bounces and hip wiggles to loosen up any air bubbles in her. Sometimes just the bounces make her burp but I always pat her back as well to make sure.

If he’s throwing up a lot it’s probably due to him being super gassy

I was prescribed lactulose after my c-section and it made me full of wind aswell it was horrible. If the gaviscon is working could you go back to the GP and see if there’s an alternative for his constipation?

my daughter got perscribed “famotidine” for colic and reflux and it helped so much

If you go back to the GP and explain about the lactulose, they may give you a suppository. When my boy was weeks old we had the same. He went 4 days without going and we were given suppositories. Made him go within minutes x

I would ask to switch to a reflux med like omeprazole. With the carobel I know you said it didn’t do anything but you can tweak the amount you use. We’ve had to play about with how much we use to get it right.
