@Harley what do they typically look for to determine if a child has autism or not?
Usually it’s language, communication, social interaction/ how they like to play. Any sensory issues. Food habits, any repetitive behaviour, other behavioural concerns x
Sorry to jump in @Harley where do I get the form for the right to choose?
@Chifae✨ the website is called (adhd uk.co.uk) there is a video I have which explains how to do it if you would like me to send that to you? X
@Harley yes please if you don’t mind x
I phoned the doctors to put my 2 year old boy on the waiting list for an assessment, I worked with sen children and have 4 family members with autism so I have a lot of knowledge and knew I needed to get him tested specifically due to his self harm behaviour. The doctor then referred him and within a month I got a call that I have an assessment appointment next month which is really quick despite uk waiting times for a diagnosis. There is also something called “right to choose” you can fill out a form and it speeds this up really quickly instead of having to wait years. Hope this helps x
