Girl mums!

Any tips/tricks on getting your little girls to stay still whilst doing their hair? 😩 My girls got really long hair and she hates it in her face but on the other hand she does not sit still when I’m doing it! She’ll run off or scream the house down! I’ve tried her in her high chair too but the back of the chair is too high and she won’t lean forward šŸ˜… Are all girls the same at this age or is it just mine 🤣

Very similar, my daughter’s hair is past her shoulders and goes wild. I let her hold my phone and watch 5 mins of something like Bluey, Peppa etc. as she will not stay still otherwise. I know it’s not ideal but it’s the only screen time she has each day so to me it’s worth it, especially when trying to juggle her hair for nursery on work days šŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

I can only do my daughters while she’s eating, she has a booster seat on the chair and that’s quite high but I manage šŸ˜… she has to be fully distracted with food and sometimes tv or her yoto player

Similarly low screen time with hair being the 10mins every day just before breakfast so her hair doesn't get in her food

With things like hair and brushing teeth its non negotiable in our house. If they screamed and ran every time u tried ti brush teeth you'd find a way to do it by hook or by crook lol same goes for hair. U can either have it done screaming or sitting nicely. Either way its being done. Id gently push her forwards in the highchair to get the ends done. Its not like shes stronger than u to prevent u doing that. Some might not agree but its tough love on certain aspects of dealing with kids.

Let her watch tv x

Tbh we pick our battles! When it’s nursery day we just brush it and put clips in as she comes home looking like she’s been through a hedge backwards anyway! When she’s at home we will make more of an effort but I’m talking pony tail or bunches! I haven’t got the willpower for plaits or fancy hairdos!

Boy not girl but same with cutting his nails - we don’t do screen time basically at all but I’ll stick an educational YouTube video on my phone and let him watch so I can do them

My son needs his hair done every day as he has very tight mixed textured hair so I give him his tablet and hold him between my knees. Distracting her will be your best chance

We sometimes use something on a screen like above, some days she’s happy just playing with the bag of bobbles/clips and sometimes pretends to do a teddy’s hair and puts bobbles/clips on them. I will say we don’t do anything elaborate with her hair, I haven’t got the skills and she hasn’t got the patience!
