This is for people who don't like the name "Odette"

Sounds alittle too old fashioned for me. Almost too medieval.

It sounds like a little old lady to me. Its not awful, thats just my first thought only because ive never met an odette. Same thing with the name Ethel or Gladys

To be brutally honest when i think of the name Odette, I imagine an older woman with smokers cough and she runs a broken down motel in the desert. I dont know why but thats just what I picture in my head.

Same -- it's my great unts name so for me it represents a really old lady. But actually reading it now (and also thinking of baby girl names) I think it can be cute 🥰

I love this name but I hate that it doesn’t have a good short form, not a fan of Odie

for me it’s like…why would u want to name ur child Od/Odd?? i know it’s pronounced w a long O but when i read it the first thing i think is “odd” and kids are mean af if they are bullying her u best believe they’re gonna take “odd” and run imo

It reminds me of Swan Lake. And I also think there are prettier French O names (Ottilie, Ophélie, Oriane)

I find it a harsh sounding name for a little girl. I know we are only kids for 10% of your lives but I can’t imagine a little baby or toddler called Odette.

@J people are thick 😂 my name gets spelt wrong all the time and it’s like the most boring name. I can imagine people spelling it Odet.

I love it because The Swan Princess was my favorite cartoon for a very long time as a child!
