My mom got hers later than life. It was tough but more bc she was scared and learning in NYC. Plus being taught by my dad 😂🤦🏾♀️ But she did good and got it so
@Jenn ❤️❤️ thank you for sharing! I really want to be able to take my kids to the library and parks by myself so I want to get serious about it too
@Macdalia thank you!! My mom got hers later in life too and I watched her struggle 😭😂 just with the written test.
I got my license at age 24. I was super scared of driving, like phobia level. But I needed a license to get hired permanently at my new job. Two coworkers helped me to learn, pushing me, but not too hard. A month later I was driving a stripped out utility van on the highway, and now I love driving- just not in L.A.
@Jaquelyn that's really comforting knowing you could do it and are so comfortable now!! ❤️
Got it at 25, only because I had zero choice.. I cried everytime my husband tried to teach me 😂 however paying for lessons from a professional gave me a ton of confidence
Girl, I got mine at 31. I was just major anxious about other people on the road. But it wasn't that hard. After I done a few lessons I was on a roll.
Following because I’m almost 30 with ZERO desire to drive. I live in a rural part of Australia and rely on others to get us around haha I don’t like having to ask, but also am so scared to be in control of a vehicle and essentially mine and my son’s lives on a road where I don’t trust the other drivers 😫
@Courtney 😭 I don't trust other drivers either! I see people driving around crazy all the time so that does not help at all
@Samantha this is how I feel like I'll be 😂😂 I regret not going to a driving school or something when I was younger though
You’re not alone I’ve got my theory test booked later and I’m 35
Got mine at 31 and wasn’t hard, had my baby in the back whilst learning ☺️ Tbh you are actually better at driving when older, your frontal lobe is developed so your risk taking is decreased and you are less likely to have a collision statistically. Plus cheaper insurance!
@Sarah that makes a lot of sense! Thank you!!
Got my license last year at 24. My sister was in a bad accident right as I was supposed to learn that traumatized me into never wanting to drive. I eventually taught myself during COVID and would drive more frequently to/from work but that was it. Then met my husband and he made me feel safe enough to drive seriously and get my license, I’ve had it for a year now and love the freedom. I can take my kid anywhere without having to ask. Definitely worth getting over your fear for your kids!
