Advice

Hi friends! My daughter is 2.5 years old and she’s had bumps on her cheeks and arms that don’t seem to itch or bother her any. Her pediatrician has said that it’s eczema and to keep her moisturized and try Vaseline. We’ve tried different lotions, keep her moisturized, tried breastmilk/oatmeal baths and we’ve tried Vaseline. She’s been using Honest soap since a baby. Anyone have any recommendations on lotions and should I switch to a more sensitive soap?

Aquaphor baby stick has helped a lot. We ended up at the dermatologist because nothing was working. She gave us Aristocort and Fluocinolone Acetonide Oil to use. One for when it’s really bad and one for when it’s mild. Recommended CeraVee regular lotion. We tried the healing ointment but it didn’t help.

Does it look like pictures of keratosis pilaris? My son has a mild case of kp on his upper arms and occasionally chest, back, and cheeks. It comes and goes, but there’s usually a few small bumps on his upper arms

Baby Aveeno non-scented for soap and lotion and aquaphor and baby eucerin for eczema. Also, for detergent All Free + Clear

We were told ours were because of some food intolerance

If you can, you may also want to try using an extra rinse when you wash laundry. My daughter’s eczema seems to be more triggered by exposure to perfumes/soaps etc. I use a dove bar that has no dyes or perfumes for bathing her. She still has flares here and there. But, in our case…the extra rinse is helping to reduce her sensitivity to things.

My son has eczema that we control by slathering Aquaphor on his body while he’s still wet in the tub (being wet is key). In the morning, I splash a little water on his body then rub in Mustela Stelatopia+. There’s no sign of eczema on him but it’s only because of this routine.

Try unrefined coconut oil.

My son has Extreme eczema 😭 to the point his skin feels like snake skin. The only things that have helped us is Cerave (I use them for lotion, shampoo, body wash etc.) and wet soaks.

We use detergent that is dye and fragrance free, and wash him with cetaphil . Then we coat him in beesaline or Vaseline morning and night.
