My daughter is the same. Hates the taste and spits it out. Have tried supermarket equivalents to see if she likes the taste of those better but still no. She's got her 16wk vaccinations on Thursday and dreading it 😖 I'd just say try different brands/supermarkets' own, you may have better luck than I did 😅
Does she have a dummy? I squirt a bit into the side of his cheek and then put his dummy in and it encourages him to swallow it
Do you have a bottle teat? Try putting into a teat and letting baby suck through as if it’s a feed? X
I don't think you're meant to do it but it worked for us on Friday after vaccinations - we put 2.5mil into their bottles of milk 😅 it worked a treat as mine spit it out all the time otherwise. Another thing that worked was using a colostrum harvesting syringe instead of the Calpol syringe if you have any lying around x
Thank you all!! Really helpful advice Xx
On my first the nurse showed me to do it in little bits, put the syringe all the way to back of one of the cheeks and then shut their mouth, repeat until it’s all gone xx
My little girl hates calpol too. We bought the Frida mom medicine dispenser hoping it would work better but she’s still not a fan. You could try it and see if it works for you? So I end up using the Frida mom medicine dispenser, aiming it toward the back of one of her cheeks and dispensing slowly bit by bit. Sometimes I take the dispenser out and put her dummy in as it encourages her to suck and swallow (don’t know why she won’t do this with the dispenser as it is dummy shaped)
Sorry hun I haven't got any tip on how to take calpol as mine takes it fine from sringe or spoon but with cold if you buy a cold mist humidifier with vix tablets have that on on a nighttime and during naps of baby naps in your room, nasal spray and snot sucker that's what I've been using as my baby is on his second cold now passed on through my toddler x
