Royal Berkshire hospital

Hi, I just wanted to see what everyone thought about the maternity services at Royal Berkshire hospital and what their birth experience was like! Xx

The birth of my first was really traumatic, I had to be put under general anaesthetic halfway through my emergency c-section as my epidural at the time ran out during the procedure.. despite all of that, the anaesthetists and surgeons worked really quickly to rectify the situation. My partner and daughter were escorted out, and the midwives guided him through the first change and first bottle whilst I was out. Yes, it was traumatic for us. The midwives were fantastic, and they gave us so much support and kindness when back in recovery. I quickly recovered, and I was walking again within hours.. the midwife even offered to take my daughter to the nursery so I could have a power nap as well. I'm having an elective c-section this time. It's been planned since January and booked for the middle of June.. again, the team has been wonderful about it all, and I've been given additional mental health support in preparation as well.

I couldn't fault it xxx

Had a home birth but was under Royal Berkshire hospital, couldn’t fault the care! I was up there quite a few times during pregnancy getting assessed and check and they were always very good, and we actually ended up in hospital after having baby at home (I lost too much blood) and like I said couldn’t fault them 🙂

Had my first there and it was a really lovely experience. Midwives really made me feel cared for. Due to have second there as well and looking forward to same fantastic support.

All services and staff were amazing for us!
