Good morning, I would love to know if anyone has experienced cold sores early pregnancy please. I’m 4+ weeks and have a huge cold sore, slightly aching boobs, occasional cramps and nausea if I’m not snacking! Can’t help but feel a little worried that all is progressing ok! Try to re affirm that all is well but it’s my first time! Sending you all well wishes too ☺️

I had them twice during my pregnancy and one straight after giving birth due to be exhausted and stressed x

I did have one a week ago. It's perfectly fine if it isn't the first ever episode. If it's genital, you need to tell your maternity/ midwife team as if you have one whilst giving birth they may put you on meds or give you a c-section so it doesn't transfer to baby. Whilst pregnant your immune system is suppressed so if you get sick or are run down, things like cold sores will pop up. Try to keep yourself well x

I had one cold sore on my lip a week before I got a positive test, think it’s because at the start your immune system takes a bashing. Happened with my first daughter too, it’s one of the symptoms that help me know I’m pregnant, as I never ever get them otherwise x

Yes! I've had a cold sore but everything seems fine at the moment ❤️
