I haven't used ibuprofen but I have used the teething gel & then calpol when my girl was in a lot of pain
I've done both regularly, it's just the same as when you take ibuprofen and paracetamol together. Ibuprofen targets inflammation so can be good for teething as their gums are inflamed and paracetamol will hit the pain as well. When he's really bad I also use Anbesol liquid
I don’t use calpol for teething as that’s mainly for temperatures. I give my little one nurofen (ibuprofen) as that’s more for teething and inflammation.
I found nurofen is better for teething pain as it's an anti inflammatory. Also I use the powders before bed if little one is bad x
Same here - i only give ibuprofen for teething pains in the night. Seems to be more effective
Thanks everyone I rang 111 for to double check the nhs advice and they advised it was safe! Seemed to do the trick as we finally had a good stretch of sleep! Finding teething hard this time as with my first daughter calpol and teething granules/gel always did the trick and this time nothing seems to help at all especially at night 😫😢 poor lil babe is just exhausted!
My little girl has 4 top teeth coming through all at the same time! I found the anbesol liquid has worked wonders for her and now once I put it on you wouldn’t even know she’s teething 😂
I have only given both once when I was advised to do so by a doctor, I didn’t think it was recommended to give both under normal circumstances but I haven’t researched it. I personally wouldn’t give both unless I really had to, I’d wait until the Calpol was out of the system and try ibuprofen instead see if that one is more effective.
