The quickest way is living in a hostel or temp accommodation provided by the council. As you are living with family even though u are considered as homeless you won’t be a priority. They will prioritise anyone living in hostels and sharing bathrooms etc. I ended up going private. My disabled mom who can’t access her upstairs bathroom has been waiting 2 years.

What band have you been placed in? I’m in the exact same situation, feel like i’m getting absolutely no where.

@Keira I’m in band a but they messed me about so much especially after I complained I would advise you to file a complaint with the local social care ombudsman as they help immensely in putting you in the right band and giving you the right registration date and award date I had my banding changed because of them and my registration date backdated because I believed it was wrong. I’m in the process of trying to get my award date backdated so it will take time but i speak to a housing officer he told me them 3 things determine your place in the queue so yeah I was in the wrong place in the queue for so many years no wonder why I wasn’t getting anywhere and why I wasn’t getting a house. Message me if you need any help I can advise on the little I know

what’s your bedroom allowance x
