When to start maternity leave?

Hey, I know it’s really early to be thinking about this 🙈 But how long before your due date are you planning to go on maternity leave?

You can start mat leave about 13 weeks before your due date if I remember correctly but for me I'll start mine at the start of November as I need to work at least 12 weeks to have paid mat leave again. I'm currently off on second mat leave from my second baby

I went off 11 weeks before my due date but I took annual leave then started my maternity leave as my pregnancy was very hard on my body x

With my first I started a week before due date because I had a feeling he’d be late anyway which he was by 11 days, so I had 2 1/2 weeks before he was born. I think it all depends on what your job is and how your pregnancy is going x

I’m undecided and want to see how my pregnancy goes but as I work from home, my initial plan is to start my mat leave on my due date and use two to three weeks of holidays before that.

I went at 36 weeks with my first x

I’m unsure on what to do with this as not sure how annual leave works - need to check at my workplace! (As in - can I use some of that annual leave next year instead). I plan to start from my due date but then take annual leave 1-2 weeks before

Last time I stopped at the end of week 37 as I was exhausted. I think I took a week of annual leave and started may leave 1 week before my due date. I will probably do similar this time as I’m not finding pregnancy easier with a 1 year old haha

Last time I went 3 days before my induction. This time I’ll take two weeks to myself before I have two to deal with 🤣
