MIL keeps buying ugly clothes!!

How do I tell my mil to stop spending money on the ugliest clothes? They’re all very old fashioned and just bloody horrible quite honestly. I don’t want to come across ungrateful and don’t want her to keep wasting her money.

You may have already tried this but maybe subtly show her some clothes you've seen online that you love, and say aww I just love it when they're wearing things like this. My in-laws haven't bought a single thing for my daughter so I think I'd be grateful for anything! Their own daughter is pregnant now so will be tough to see if they buy her baby lots of clothes and toys.

Maybe suggest that you’re covered for clothes because you keep receiving clothes as gifts, and you would like to start building your baby’s book/toy collection so you’re thinking of asking anyone that wants to buy a present to opt for a book/wooden toy instead!

Most places seem to accept swapping out children's clothes for things you do like without receipts if you say they've been gifted and the wrong size 🤞

This would literally be my worst nightmare 🙈🙈

Omg, when my daughter was born my mum gifted half stuff I absolutely loved and half was the ugliest things I've ever seen, just because she found them on sale 😂 to give an idea, she bought her batman boys shorts.... For a December baby 😅. Luckily it's bit a reoccurring thing and she does have general decent taste in clothes or I have no idea what I'd do

Stick them on Vinted and make some money. I personally love old fashioned / “ugly” clothing for my baby

@Z lol Batman shorts brilliant!!

I told them that I am not in need of clothes at the moment
