I decided against having the RSV vaccine, purely because it’s a newer vaccine and my baby is due in May, which isn’t peak season for RSV! Each to their own, it’s totally personal preference, just do what you feel is best for you and your baby 🤍
I’m booked to have it in a week. My understanding is, a bit like covid, it won’t stop your baby getting an RSV infection but it reduces the severity of it.
My children haven’t had it. My nearly 4 year old spend the weekend in hospital when he was 1.5 with RSV. I also know somebody who did have it and her little boy was always in and out of hospital for RSV until he was 3. I suppose it’s down to our own research/ choosing the benefit&risj factors. Do what you feel best x
