Electric nail file?

Has any one tried an electric nail file? If so, which do you recommend? Cant figure out if it's a gimmick 😩

I did not buy the electric one. It scared me – I bought a nail file on Amazon made by blue giraffe. I really like it. It’s a baby nail file says it’s the safest and easiest way to keep your baby trimmed… lol I like it

I had the Frida baby Electric file but I found the machine spines too quick. So I was afraid to use it. Now I just use a normal file and use baby clippers for my babies nails.

They are ok… they sound and look more vicious than they are. Only so useful when baby is less mobile. I stopped using mine when he was about 11 months old as he didn’t like being kept still as it’s a lot slower than clippers

We bought one and used it a few times. It’s lived in the back of the cupboard since. They are rubbish. We just use nail scissors and never had an issue. It’s much quicker and we found it the easiest

I use the electric nail file and prefer it. I accidentally nipped my son’s finger with clippers and I felt terrible for ages so made the transition 😅

We’ve used an electric nail file since newborn and I couldn’t recommend enough. It’s so efficient once you get the hang of it and there is no chance of hurting baby accidentally

I think a normal clipper is the best. Because it’s quick and effective just be careful. I usually clip her nails in her sleep

I used the tommee tippee one and it is a god send! it’s so soft and doesn’t hurt her skin, she sleeps through it and it’s so easy to use x

I use normal ones but have found the best time to clip is when she’s asleep after a bath as they’re nice and soft 😂

I have this one Baby Nail File Megainvo Electric... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B092SJJMTK?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share It's 100% better than clippers, I hurt my baby once when he was newborn and I haven't used clippers since LOL With the filer he doesn't have to stay completely still, since it won't hurt him anyway. There are various heads so you can start with the super soft one, and different speeds. My issue with clippers, apart from holding baby super still, was that I would clip the "centre" of the nail, but then the corners would stay sharp or they would grow more, and there's no way I can manage to clip the little corners 🙈 I thought that filers were just an extra, but it gets the job well done in a minute (depending on the baby lol) with no harm done.

I just try to keep up with it every week

I’d be too scared for clippers but my friends use them fine! We use the electric file multiple times a week and it’s so handy! We got ours off Amazon and it has different roughness heads for baby’s age https://amzn.to/3ExmLZo

We use the tommee tipper scissors. I hated the electric nail file

It really didn’t work very well as their nails are very soft when they are little. I ended up using Tommy Tippee nail scissors. And we’re still usimg them today.

After my son almost lost (another) finger I used the electric nail file. I used it with all 3 of mine. I highly recommend them at least for a little while. A nurse recommended that if you’re not comfortable using nail cutters or a file you could simply bite them down

I bought an electric one and only ever tried to use it once 🤣 Found it easier with the clippers haha xx

I just brought a electric one on Amazon that came with different tops for different age/ nails lengths and she’s really good as she’s got older sits in my legs and watches me do it like she’s at the salon😂

I literally bite my babies nails while she's feeding if I can't get her to stay still enough for clippers. Clippers are only good if they're still because it's easy to catch their skin 😔

@Bethan oh dear! Do you really?! Not judging, it’s just something that I’d never think to do especially when there are so many great nail clippers, scissors or a baby nail files out there. Does she let you do that?

I didn’t like it, found it was really hard to get a smooth edge! I just use an adult nail file!

A mix of reviews! Wowee. Thank you everyone. My son is immobile from the waist down and it's his first nail cut so I'm. Anxious. 😭🤣

@Elina yeaah. The files I had were crap and would take too long and she'd move before I could finish them. The clippers when she was tiny I caught her twice and we had to plaster her finger up and she bled and it broke my heart. Easier. I don't risk cutting her or hurting her. Now she's a bit older I do a mix of both.

He or she is too small for that

I got sent the tommy tippie one it’s really good

Yes I love it! Frida baby one

I use the baby frida. It was great! I was too scared to use clipper

I’m with @Bethan I got told by midwife/ HV to just bite my baby’s nails as it was the safest and quickest way to do it.

I don’t recommend one. They don’t do anything.
