Chickenpox advice tips
My nearly 4 year old has chickenpox day 3 and last night was horrible for him he was crying saying it was itchy.
Gave antihistamine and put on virasoothe. Also on calpol as no ibuprofen allowed.
He doesn’t like the smell of calamine
Any tips?
Does it get worse before it gets better ?
How long was your little ones off ?

Sounds strange but head & shoulders shampoo in the bath soothed my sons itching x
We used poxclin mousse. I know you said he doesn't like it, but we found calamine dried them up faster. I would also give mine oat baths throughout the day, that seem to help. Also, use bodywash with oat extracts in. Hope he feels better soon.
