Induction at Stepping Hill

Has anyone had an induction at Stepping Hill recently? I'm booked in for one next week after 2 failed sweeps. I've been told they just ring when they want you to come in? Is that correct? What's the latest they could ring? TIA X

I booked an induction 9 months ago but I had an appointment made, might be worth to ask your midwife if this is an option! They had to cancel my first date (when I was there) as they had too many emergencies so I had to wait 3 days, they prioritise you if you’ve had your reschedule xx

Mine was like this but I didn’t hear from them so had to ring and ask on the day! x

Thanks was it just triage you rang? It all seems very unorganized 🥴

@Vicki I’m pretty sure! (It was all a blur so I can’t 100% remember). I think I rang around midday because we had to arrange childcare and couldn’t just wait around all day not knowing- it can be frustrating!

In my case (January) they called me in the morning around 9-10am to come in approx 1h, but they were flexible and we agreed to come in around 2h. However I knew the day before and I was waiting just for call about the time. At hospital everyone was very nice and looking well after us

Thanks x

I was induced in February. I called ahead but was told they'd ring me after the first round of checks, once they knew what beds were available. They got back to me before lunchtime. Good luck with your induction. It’s worth bringing plenty of snacks, drinks, and additional changes of clothes as you may be asked to stay on ward.

Thanks for the tips x
