My first was the most severe then got better with each pregnancy (currently on 3rd)
Ive had with both of my pregnancies. I think it's like a 70 or 80 % chance you will have it again in future pregnancies once you've had it.
Oh no bless you I hope you feel better soon it’s horrendous isn’t it are you taking medication for it ? I don’t know how I will cope if I have it again with a toddler because last time I literally lived in hospital. My pre teen does help a lot and my partner but I’m just worried about work and everything for the both of us if I do get bad again x
So nervous about this. I am pregnant with my second now. Exactly 5 weeks today and it hasn't started yet but I'm so scared.
I think the best thing to do is try to keep your anxiety down (I know better said than done) because it’s something you have no control over. I have 1 child right now but hg was very bad with my first. Same situation (in hospital most of pregnancy). I also have trauma and haven’t tried for the 2nd yet.
2nd has been even worse tbh
With my first I had it bad but stopped between 14-16 weeks. I’m 20 weeks pregnant with my second and I threw up 10 times yesterday so still going strong 🙃
My second pregnancy was worse than first. If it happens again, I’d say reach out for medical (anti sickness meds, IV fluids, thiamine if needed), emotional (peer support, counselling from a charity like pregnancy sickness support) and practical help (family and friends). And educate people around you by sending them links to sites like these: https://www.hyperemesis.org/who-we-help/family-friends/survival-guide-for-family-friends/ It’s so tough to go through HG, so get help in place as soon as possible to carry you through… so many HG women feel like they’re literally dying and are scared for themselves and babies. So it’s so important to have the right help in place… really hope it won’t get too bad for you 🤗
I am pregnant with my second at the moment and at 11 weeks. I have HG again, it’s different but just as bad. My GP and OB worked with me from the moment I found out I was pregnant to work with me on how we can manage it and that has made a world of difference mostly mentally.
Bless you all. You’ve got this 🙌🏽 although it’s easier said than done will all be worth it in the end ❤️
Had it again but took Xonvea this time which turned it into morning sickness for me
Yeah unfortunately had it all 3 pregnancies. Second one ended in mc unrelated to HG but been very ill all three times but luckily this time I had meds that helped a lot earlier x
I had it bad with my 1st that I was in and out of hospital for 3 months but with my second I didn't have it, I started on meds when I found out I was pregnant just in case. Kept me out of hospital and food down. Each pregnancy is different so you might have it you might not x
I am pregnant with my second and it’s actually worse this time. Not even sure how that’s possible because first time round was horrific, but this time is just a different level. Last week I couldn’t even move without being sick.

Mine is worse in this pregnancy than my first
Mine is slightly better in 2nd pregnancy than first but it’s harder to manage looking after a toddler and having HG at the same time. Xonvea is the only thing that helps me but my doctors refuse to prescribe it! I’ve just gone back to work today (wfh mind) and feel like it’s a mistake and I should still be off! Xxxx
@Hannah that is such a shame! In my mind Xonvea saves the NHS money in the long run on reduced hospital admissions etc. Have you mentioned the RCOG guidelines to them? And that it’s the only drug licensed for pregnancy sickness in the UK?
Pregnant with my second right now and I have it just as bad as with my first
