When did you stop working when pregnant with twins

I’m currently 24 weeks pregnant with DDCA twins and due end of July 2025. I’m now about the size I was when I gave birth to my first child at 38 weeks. Moving around is getting very hard, wondered how long twin mummy’s managed to keep working for because I’m finding it very difficult at the moment. Thanks ☺️

DCDA here, and FTM, I stop working tomorrow just at 33 weeks :) I’ve been fortunate to work from home for most of the last month but definitely can’t even do that anymore. Looking forward to the rest now x

I finished at 30 weeks. Had 4 weeks annual leave, started maternity leave leave at 34 weeks, delivered at 37 weeks. It was nice because I got some quality time with my eldest before they arrived and the pelvic pain was so bad I absolutely couldn’t have carried on at work. I’m a community midwife so a lot of driving, clinics where I’m up and down and lugging equipment in and out of houses so not option to WFH or desk job it

It was terrible at 25+ weeks and only got worse. I was about passing out from anemia and low blood pressure at 29 so I just stopped working so I could rest.

When I went into labor at 36 weeks. 😅 but I work from home and my job is pretty laid back (message taking for a pest control company) if I had to do anything even remotely more difficult, I probably would’ve gone on leave sooner. Like 32-33 weeks.

I stopped working at 34 weeks and delivered at 37 weeks on my scheduled c section date.

I stopped at 28 weeks because we moved states but idk how long I would’ve lasted honestly. I worked on my feet and had dizzy spells every other hour smh but had no type of leave/sick time

Thanks guys. This is very reassuring. I’m going to try to hold out until 33 weeks. I’m a teacher so a lot of the time I can just sit at my desk whilst teaching, so hopefully I will make it 🤞🏻🤞🏻 twin pregnancy is next level, the pain and the problems moving are just awful

@Sinead I'm also a teacher. If I need to, I will get signed off then start maternity leave at 34 weeks.

I worked from home from 28 weeks and went on maternity leave at 35 weeks. I had pelvic girdle pain so badly I couldn’t physically get into the office so luckily my work was understanding

@Sinead I am a teacher and was pregnant with dcda twins. I was allowed to wfh from 33 weeks until 37 weeks when I had originally planned to start my mat leave. It coincided with Xmas holidays so actually got 2 weeks 3 days off before they were born at 37w3d. Worth asking your employer, they can only say no.

@Hannah what did you do from home for that long? Not sure I could work at a computer all day.

@Jo began my SAHM journey with my toddler (he turned 2 a couple months after the twins were born) until the twins came 😭

@Jo well it was only 2 weeks wfh as I was 35 weeks when we broke up for Xmas. It's definitely not my idea of fun but 2 weeks of full pay wfh meant extra time when the twins arrived. I did some curriculum work and planned lessons for the team. If you are going to request it, it's worth going in with a strong sense of what you'd do (especially if it eases the burden for others in school).

@Hannah ok. I will see how I feel next term.

It was hard I had a lot of back pin which required assesment at work and they reduced my hours to 4 a day
