We used Infacol and it seemed to help. You have to use consistently for at least a week before you’ll start the see the difference.
We tried infacol and I don't think it helped, but didn't use it for long enough. I thought he cried more with it. But they will outgrow it, usually gets better by 3 months so you're almost there! Suddenly one day my boy is quiet at night sleeping and not refluxing 🥹
I rate infacol tbh. My LG is 14 weeks and still suffers with reflux and Infacol has been a lifesaver. As Sarah said, you have to use it for like a week before you see the real benefit of it
We’ve been prescribed gaviscon by the gp at only nearly 3weeks old 😞
We've tried all 3 as our larl lad suffered too. We found that Gripe Water was a massive no for us. He stopped breathing and turned blue with it for a few seconds. Luckily he was fine afterwards but it scared the **** out of us and we'll never never use that again. We found that the Gaviscon only helped to stop sickness and dribbling. We found the Infacol is definitely the best one out of the 3 for us. Our health visitor recommended us to try and pop it in all of his bottles, even in a small bottle of milk when breastfeeding. It seems to help him fart/poo and be in less pain. Remember though, every baby is different hun so what doesn't work for somebody else might work for you and vice versa. Hope this helps x
The gripe water really upset my little one and gave him massive diarrhoea. He also didn’t get on with infacol. I found I wasn’t receiving much help in terms of what to use by the health advisors so I literally had to experiment for myself because he was in so much pain every night. I eventually found that using two drops of Colief baby drops in his formula night feeds really helped along side Optibac babydrop probiotics everyday. I’m not sure why but the two in combination really helped my son and I’d recommend trying them both. The probiotics just help digestion and Colief contains the enzym Lactase so that baby can digest the milk enzyme. Hope this helps! ☺️
We used gripe water and it worked
Reading this as I give my babe 1/2 tsp of gripe water! She has some reflux/gas pains from birth and it improved by 2 months. Last week (3 months now) we had non stop crying for 30+ mins in pain and showing gas pain signs, gave 1tsp of gripe water (brand called Kolik) and within 20 mins it eased. It was a random flare up and while no “evidence” that it worked we did see relief! Doc had recommended Ovol drops for instant relief but I’ve tried that and haven’t seen it work like the gripe water.
We used gripe water and it helped my Lo with her gas pain/colic
Infacol was our saviour
I think this post perfectly demonstrates just how unique it is for each baby. I’ve never tried gripe water but I’ve read scary stories about babies choking on it, and as somebody else said, there is no scientific evidence to suggest it’s beneficial so that put me off. We personally found infacol didn’t help at all, and in fact it can aggravate reflux more because it’s got a citrus flavour. My girl has been on infant gaviscon for a couple of months now and it’s helped her so much. I was initially worried about using it too, but it’s been amazing for her! Is there a particular reason you don’t want to use it?
Don’t know about the others but there is no scientific evidence saying gripe water is effective
