My dachshund is the same with young kids, he hates them. Never bitten or anything but he barks at them out of fear. We brought home our baby and he did bark at her noises for a little while (4-5 days) but soon got over it as he knew she was no threat. Now he’s happy to sit next to her with supervision of course. Take it easy let him take his time and don’t force things. When he seems aggravated just get up and walk away rather than punish him by telling off. He will soon learn. Reward every good behaviour around baby
We had a cocker spaniel, great nature and so so friendly. Noticed when we brought baby home she would walk with her tail between her legs and was nervous around him. This improved as she got used to having him around until he was mobile and as soon as he was able to pull himself to stand where she was she started nipping at him. We tried to prevent it, tried to give her more walks/attention than she had been getting incase she was jealous but unfortunately she ended up biting him and we’ve had to rehome her. If your dog is not great with kids I wouldn’t take the risk. Can family member look after them and you can introduce them to baby slowly or do they have a crate that baby will not be able to get to when they are mobile. We tried the crate but it was unfair having her in there all the time. I think if your dog has had history of biting children then you can’t take the risk and you will never relax with them together
