I bout a 2013 paper white from Cex and I’m obsessed with it. Purposely went for an older one and it’s unbreakable 😂 Edit to add it was about £35, would help if I’d put the price haha

I got the cheapest one because I didn't mind it not being waterproof or whatever. I bought it in 2021, still going strong and I use it everyday. I couldn't do without it! I don't mind having it black and white as I tend to choose my books on the app on my phone so I use the kindle to read only.

@Sarah I can't find it as when I look on Amazon it tells me they're not selling it anymore but it's not a paper white.
I have the paperwhite. Think I've had it a couple of years now. Battery lasts ages on it, warmer screen and I can read on it easily in the sun without glare

I've had 2 of the basics since 2014. Love them. Unless you have problems that require the warm light of the paperwhite I would just take the basic

Budget friendly, just get the kindle app on your phone :)
It depends on your needs. So the basic is more budget friendly but the paperwhite has some features that might make the extra cost worth it for you. It also has a slightly larger screen. For me the temperature adjustment made the paperwhite the one for me- I need a warmer screen or my eyes hurt when I’m reading.
