Toileting regression after new sibling

Our first born 2.5 yrs old) boy has been struggling with toileting the last couple of weeks. He now has a new sibling one week old. We know regressions can happen, but he will no longer tell us when he needs a poo to the point where it does almost seem sudden and almost every time now just poos in his pants. today we thought he was doing better but after his bath leant over my husband (child was naked) and just wee'd all over my husband. He reacted by shouting which isn't helpful but understandable. Now my child is so upset but I just don't know how to manage the situation. I'm only 6 days postpartum and quite hormonal

Extremely normal. It's definitely a common issue when kids go through big life changes. I'd definitely try your best not to scold or be angry (which is easier said than done) and start bringing him to the bathroom every hour or so. It takes some patience and time but he'll get back to his regular behaviour soon.

@Jessica thank you! that's good to hear! he was actually smashing it today after an initial accident, we did sticker rewards and it got to the point where he was saying he needs a wee wee and going himself! but then yea in the evening we had that incident :(

Completely normal my oldest done it (about same age gap)
