The neck girl!!
The neck
I believe i read the average room temp for little ones should be around 75 degrees.
It’s normal for their extremities (hands, feet) to run cool or cold, and even look paler than their body. Their core should be warm, and the back of the neck should be warm. If their neck is sweaty, or baby has some kind of rash they’re likely way too hot. That being said, my baby would always get a little sweaty from contact naps on the side they were sleeping on me and that was fine/normal in my experience. Personally my baby liked sleeping with the window open so air can circulate and the room can be cool, but I layered him in two swaddle blankets over his onesie since that’s what they did at the hospital too. Don’t overthink it!
My son was in the NICU so they would check his armpit so I stick to that but we usually keep our home 65-75. And I would double layer with thin material clothes.
Look up tog rating recommendations for the temperature. We have a digital thermometer in our son's room that shows us the temp in his room on a screen in the downstairs kitchen.
+1 on the back and neck check!!! we did temporal thermometer checks for a bit which said our baby was technically fine and room temp was reading good 70-73F but when we checked his back and neck itd be sweaty and he would get sweat rashes in under arms at 73F so thats how we learned we needed to keep room temp on cooler end. yea 100% recommend back/neck checks
The back of their neck tells you their body temp!
