Ongoing tummy problems

My 5 year old since February has had ongoing tummy pain. Consistently around the belly button, to the point she’s been in tears and crying in agony for me to help the pain. Calpol doesn’t touch it, neither does ibuprofen. She’s had multiple wee samples done, where she’s had white blood cells show but it’s then sent off and no bacteria grows so they rule out a wee infection/UTI. We’re waiting on bloods now, and have been referred to paediatric medicine. But it’s so difficult she’s missing so much school, she’s sitting out from playing at school because it hurts. But the past couple of times it’s flared up we’ve actually noticed her tummy swelling. I was just wondering if anyone else has ever had this? Or have any advice. I’ll show a picture of it swollen and what it’s usually like.

I would speak to the doctors and ask about possible impaction. she may appear to be doing poos but they might be small, hard and her bowels are not clearing properly. She may need prescribed laxatives to move it. My son had similar issues and one of my friends daughters has just had the same.

Try a food diary and a pain diary together. Cut food types, see how it affects ect (as well as going to the dr obvs which you’re already doing)

I agree with starting out with a food diary and try and make correlations- if any as to when flare ups occur. I would start with eliminating dairy as this is what we did as it would make my son’s belly really hard and bloated when he’d have dairy so we eliminated that and it helped massively. Hope this gets sorted asap.

I've had these symptoms as an adult and turned out I had a hernia from my bellybutton. Always worth asking them to check for something like this just in case :) hope your little one gets the treatment needed ♡ xx
